The successful applicant will demonstrate the capacity to work with schools to develop comprehensive transition plans for those most at risk. This may include supporting and developing PSD funding applications / reviews in addition to planning and delivering transition programs.
The successful applicant will have an extensive knowledge of service provision within the Ballarat area, which can be used to support successful learning interventions and highly individualised education pathway plans for children and young people at risk of not completing year 12 or equivalent. This will include the full suite of DET SSS programs and services.
The Engagement Officer will demonstrate ability to successfully plan, implement and evaluate programs that boost engagement, in line with current DET policy relating to youth between the ages of 10-17. This may be in liaison with community agencies and government institutions.
The Engagement Officer will be able to work independently, as well as with relevant school staff including existing Engagement Officers and the Principals of Mount Rowan Secondary College, Woodman’s Hill Secondary College, Ballarat High School, Mount Clear College and Phoenix P-12 Community College or their delegate.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high level knowledge and expertise in teaching; proven ability to teach literacy and numeracy is preferred.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to plan strategically, setting goals and targets that increase engagement and year 12 completion across the 5 Ballarat secondary schools.
