The Project’s purpose is to strengthen the core of education with a focus on school leadership and targeted teaching practices.Midwest Education Regional Office is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Engagement Officer – Regional Learning Initiatives.If successful, you will work within the Scaling up Success team to provide strategic advice to schools on developing and sustaining community engagement procedures to enhance positive community–school relationships. It will be your responsibility to support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.The Engagement Officer will provide strategic advice and support to principals, school staff and the project team in the implementation of school attendance strategies and policy and legislative compliance. - provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain or hold a current C class licence
- obtain or hold an accredited 4WD qualification
- undertake extended overnight travel throughout the Goldfields and/or Midwest Education Region, including travel to remote school sites
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
