The Opportunity:
The Engineer Manager GS APAC provides engineering and technical leadership and direction across GS APAC for the delivery of technical assurance enabling functions in support of business needs and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The role also supports organisational governance and integration of engineering and technical capabilities across Lines of Business.
Responsibilities:
- Provides organisational engineering and technical leadership.
- Working closely with program/project engineering leads and their technical staff.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining engineering and technical processes and procedures as part of the broader GS APAC Quality system
- Managing the delivery of the Technical Assurance functions, including quality assurance, audit, analysis, corrective action, reporting and lessons learnt.
- Providing leadership and assistance to programs and projects on an as required basis including technical advice and direction and sourcing internal or external expertise as required.
- Providing direction and guidance with developing and maintaining a framework for technical learning and development.
- Assisting engineers and technical personnel with professional development and achieving qualifications and credentials.
- Work closely with other Lines of Business and People and Culture in developing the careers of technical personnel including training and professionalisation needs, and potential future roles.
- Actively supporting the integration of technical capabilities with other GS APAC Lines of Business.
- Setting technical standards and specifications.
- Contributing to building organisational technical capability.
- Provide organisational governance for the engineering and technical function.
- Ensuring organisational compliance with regulatory requirements.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Minimum 15 years' experience
- Proven engineering leadership and management experience in medium to large organisations
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and maintaining engineering quality management systems
- Undergraduate four-year degree in engineering
- Registered professional engineer in an Australian jurisdiction
- Chartered engineering status
- Must be eligible to obtain an Australian government security clearance
