Form of workAs the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove. Surrounded by 4.2 hectares of lush landscaping with the show-stopping beach lagoon at the centre, the Resort has 251 distinctive rooms all boasting private balconies, 15 diverse indoor and outdoor meeting and events spaces and 5 restaurants & bars.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll support the day to day engineering operations of the resort to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members, including the operation of all mechanical and electrical plant and equipment within the resort, and all ongoing and preventative maintenance of all rooms, buildings and public areas.
Working to tight deadlines, it’s a fast-paced role that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained. You’ll also play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling the Engineering department to ensure they are highly engaged.
With a strong team to support, the day to day of this role will include;
- Monitoring and auditing maintenance requests in the system to ensure adherence to response times and resolution
- Rostering and management of team manning and budget
- Supervising and supporting the engineering team to execute all maintenance requests and assist as required
- Provide support to the Resort leadership team in the absence of the Director of Engineering
- Day to day management of contractors on site, including quality of work
To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong background and knowledge across a broad range of trades, with electrical skills highly regarded. Trade certificate qualification is a must. With 2-3 year experience in a similar role or in a senior engineering capacity within a hotel, resort environment or complex environment, you will have proven ability to manage multiple and varying projects.
