About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Enrolled Endorsed Nurse! You will assist in providing withdrawal management nursing services inclusive of admission/discharging clients to and from unit, physical assessment, mental and physical health care.
Responsibilities include
- Assist and communicating with GP when GP is on duty for clients needs or concerns
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and collaborative relationship with AOD Support staff
- Assist on the unit with tasks such as cleaning and making up rooms post discharge of clients and general tidying of unit
- Assisting in completing unit audits and reporting back to nurse team leader on findings
- Available to assist in supporting RN and AOD support workers in the afternoon
This is a permanent part-time position, 25 hours per week, based in Corio, VIC.
You will have
- Qualifications in Nursing and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Completed or in progress of completing Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Competencies or AOD skill set 4 units (Be willingness to obtain within first 12 months of employment)
- Experience and/or demonstrated competence in nursing in the alcohol and other drugs nursing environment, including working with people with mental health conditions
- Knowledge of the Guidelines and issues relating to withdrawal management
- Demonstrated skills in triage, medical assessment, decision making and providing appropriate nursing interventions and to provide crisis support
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from different cultures and religious backgrounds
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with people displaying challenging behaviours
- Confident computer skills to use Microsoft office programs such as: Outlook, Teams, Microsoft word, Excel, SharePoint, and ability to learn and use TSAs documentation software
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
- A Current Driver's Licence
