Your new role

We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our McLean Lodge on a Part Time basis. The schedule will include a total of 8 shifts every fortnight with most shifts being followed by a negotiable sleepover shift.

Flexible scheduling will be arranged to accommodate successful applicants. The roster is as below:

Week 1: Monday (1515 – 2230) +sleepover, Tuesday (1515 – 2230) +sleepover, Friday (1515 – 2015), Sunday (1515 – 2230) +sleepover

Week 2: Tuesday (1515 – 2015), Wednesday (1515 – 2015), Friday (1515 – 2230) +sleepover, Saturday (1515 – 2230) +sleepover

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

• Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
• To observe and report changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
• To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
• To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
• Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
• Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
• Providing emotional support to residents.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

• Ability to work both in team and autonomously
• Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing (with current AHPRA Registration) or Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
• Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication) Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
• Keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
• A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
