Dicker Access and Surveillance (DAS)

Tasks and Responsibilities
Summary
This position is for an experienced Enterprise Business Development Managers (BDM) with a strong focus on CCTV. You will be assigned a range of accounts with achievable budgets and support to meet the goals of DAS
Primary
- Building strong relationships with our customer and vendors
- Account Management of defined Customer Set, with the goal of maximising the Customers spend with Dicker DAS.
- Identification of opportunities and taking specific actions to ensure that DAS is well positioned to ‘win the business’.
- Provide high level of service to customers, so that DAS has majority market share
General
- Provide customer service and sales support to all Dicker DAS customers when required
- Always present a professional image to Resellers, Vendors and End Users.
- Develop strong product and process knowledge of all DAS Vendors.
- Acquire and maintain vendor Sales Certifications as directed
- Attend Reseller and Vendor social and training events, which may be out of normal hours
- Record and report sales forecasts and maintain accurate project pipelines
- Ensure that, where possible, the customer's financial arrangements are in line with their business needs (credit limits, payment terms etc.). Initiate reviews as appropriate
- Liaise with appropriate DAS Sales, Presales and/or Technical Support teams for assistance with quotations involving large and/or complex configurations
- Proactively seek and develop new business opportunities in existing and potential accounts
- Conduct Customer and Vendor Meetings as per goals set by your Sales Manager
- Take all reasonably practicable steps to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others, and to minimise risks
- Follow Dicker Data’s policies, procedures, and reasonable instructions always
What you will need to succeed in the role
- Extensive understanding of CCTV and Video Management Software
- High level interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise work, to meet with company and customer expectations
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. This includes an ability to communicate and liaise with all levels of customer and supplier contacts
- Intermediate MS Office literacy and ERP applications
- Numeracy skills - (multiplication, division, addition & subtraction)
- Understanding of administration procedures (e.g., ordering, receipting, invoicing, returns and payments)
- Detailed knowledge of the relevant market
- High level of initiative and enthusiasm
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- Ability to recognise potential in customers and end users.
- Ability to forecast numbers against budget on a monthly / quarterly basis.
