• salary: $113,288 - $130,959 (plus 15.4% super)

• one ongoing permanent position and one non-ongoing position; full-time or part-time hours

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill two Enterprise Service Designer positions at the Executive LevEL 1 classification level.The positions are located in either Adelaide, Canberra or Brisbane (preferred), with Hobart, Geelong, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney locations also considered. The successful applicants can work either full-time or part-time hours, although flexible working arrangement, including a hybrid model of working from home and the office, applies.About the roleThe EL 1Enterprise Service Designer will provide expertise to initiatives needing advanced design solution support. In this role you will:

• collaborate with client, business and technical experts, including vendors, to develop sustainable enterprise solutions which position us for the future
• use your design, analytical and problem-solving skills to ‘bridge the gap’ between business and technology colleagues
• present complex information and concepts in a visual and understandable way
• use your superior communication skills to advise senior executives on solution design recommendations
• help uplift ABS’ enterprise design and architecture capability
• contribute to the effective governance of solution designs and the Enterprise Architecture
• develop processes to maintain the ABS Enterprise Architecture.

What we are looking for (selection criteria)To be suitable you should have most or all the following skills, qualities, and experience:

• excellent communication skills that allow for the:

o building and maintenance of productive working relationships
o creation of detailed written documents to support all levels of staff understandingo facilitation of interviews and workshops with a variety of stakeholderso development of key artefacts to support managing enterprise design and business architecture uplifto (ability to) work independently and act collaboratively as a team member (in co-located and distributed settings)o support for governance and decision making forums

• ability to understand and present complex concepts and interrelationships relating to enterprise design and business architecture to achieve business outcomes
• experience in designing solutions considering enterprise strategies, and/or the ability to create and maintain Enterprise Architectures (this should demonstrate knowledge of architecture methods, design approaches, frameworks and governance processes)
• familiarity with production of official statistics (desirable).
