A dynamic ACT business with deep roots in Canberra as well as owned properties nationally is seeking an Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) Engineer. This business focusses on delivering the utmost professional service to their tenants, whilst also delivering some of the most eye-catching developments and projects across the ACT region. With a growing project pipeline, this opportunity will focus on in-house Green Star certification and accreditation across all buildings/projects.
Your new role
Focusing on ESD planning & certification, your day to day will comprise of;
Coordinating reports on environmentally sustainable design initiatives, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements.
Liaise with government bodies and certification agencies for approval with a focus on Green Star certs.
Manage the transition to in-house Green Star certification and oversee the accreditation process.
Attend design meetings as an accredited professional.
Coordinate with services engineers, designers, and builders through the project manager to ensure environmental goals are met
Drive the development and execution of a solar strategy, focusing on renewable energy solutions
Develop and spearhead a Carbon Reduction Strategy, focusing on innovative initiatives to minimise the carbon footprint
Maintain a thorough understanding of government regulations related to environmental and sustainable practices
Build and maintain relationships with a network of external stakeholders, including contacts from the Commonwealth Government, NSW Government, NSW Councils and environmental industry groups
What you'll need to succeed
High level of communication skills and focus on delivery of service
Align to company values of culture, including being positive and professional
High level of competency with Microsoft Office and ACT Mapi, needed for planning and environmental purposes
High focus on OHS and risk management
Hold a current Green Star Accreditation
Previous demonstrated experience in technical engineering/design
Ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
