Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Lead: Envrionment, you will be responsible for the management of environmental activities in accordance with Gold Fields EHS standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:
Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of proactive environmental management plan (particularly land disturbance, water, waste and biodiversity management);
Ensure effective controls are in place to manage the compliant with legislative, environmental approvals and commitment and company requirements;
Contribute to sustainable mining by advising on and facilitating approvals for operations;
Undertake stakeholder engagement including meetings with regulators include DEMIRS, DWER and DBCA;
Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of the site's ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS);
Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
About you:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science
Strong understanding of Western Australia legislation (DMIRS, DWER, DPLH & DBCA)
Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS applications
Ideally prior experience in an environmental function within the mining sector
Demonstrated leadership and performance development experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
Valid Drivers licence
