Azure is experiencing exponential growth as the Andover project transitions from exploration into scoping stages. As part of that growth, we now looking for a talented Environment and Heritage Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Manager - Sustainabiltiy this role will act as a discipline lead, providing mentorship to site and Perth based team members.
The Role:
Based out of our West Perth office the Environment and Heritage Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the delivery of:
Environmental Risk Management:
- Appropriate mitigative controls to avoid and minimise environmental and Heritage impacts.
- Periodic reviews of environmental risk assessments.
- Manage investigation and close out of environmental incidents including identification and implementation of mitigative and remedial measures.
Environmental Management System:
- Develop an Environment and Heritage management system (EHMS)
- Oversee co-ordination of EHMS audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Environmental Monitoring, Audit and Reporting
- Appropriate environmental monitoring, auditing, and inspection programs.
- Systems and processes to manage and use environmental data.
- Processes to ensure auditing and inspections are conducted regularly.
- Regulatory and internal compliance reporting within required periods.
Training and Awareness
- Delivery of training and awareness programs on environmental and Heritage values, risks, and controls (e.g., SDP process)
Leadership
- Together with Sustainability Manger and environment team, develop annual and five-year environmental and Heritage management strategies.
- Collaboration with site Supervisor Environment in the delivery of site-based work programs and performance goals.
- Leading, mentoring, and supervising environmental team.
- Conducting performance reviews of direct reports and identify training and development opportunities.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in a site based Environmental Advisor or similar role.
- At least two 2 years professional experience in a Supervisory / Leadership role
- Experience in the delivery of site-based monitoring programs (e.g., surface, groundwater, and air quality)
- Experience in leading environmental audits
- Batchelor degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or similar
- Environmental Lead Auditor Training
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training or similar
