About the role
Reporting to the Manager - Operations and HSE we are seeking an experienced Exploration HSE Superintendent to provide Proactive leadership to our Discovery group and lead the discovery HSE team.
The ideal person will have the ability to engage, connect and positively influence key stakeholders across all Gold Road exploration projects. We are looking for someone to drive and improve our safety and environmental management systems. They would posses the discipline to hold personnel to account and actively improve the system.
Based in our West Perth office this role is offered on a permanent basis with regular ad-hoc travel to our exploration sites .
Key Responsibilities
- Support and improve the application of ISO 450001 and 14001 aligned management systems to allow safe and environmentally responsible exploration operations throughout Australia
- Lead and facilitate annual campaign risk assessments
- Lead the HSE team through clear work ethic, positive interactions and proactive HSE compliance
- Interact with relevant internal and external stakeholders to implement and improve HSE processes
- Champion and monitor inspections, incidents, and campaign reviews to demonstrate continual improvement
- Provide coaching and mentoring on incident investigation quality and ensure internal and external reporting compliance is met
- Provide coaching and mentoring on the Gold Road risk assessment suite and ensure quality and accurate records.
About yourself
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary Health and Safety qualification
- Formal environmental qualifications (desirable)
- Sound Knowledge on Western Australian HSE legislation (Queensland desirable)
- Sound Knowledge of ISO management systems
- ICAM Investigation training (or equivalent)
- Training and assessing qualification (desirable)
- Auditor training
- A passion for leading people through mentoring, motivating and coaching
- Experience working as a Health and Safety professional in an exploration environment (desirable)
- Current drivers licence and Provide First Aid
