About the role
Based at one of our offices in QLD or NSW (Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, Port Kembla, Toowoomba, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Tamworth) the Environment & Sustainability Advisor QLD, NSW, New Zealand will work with various GrainCorp stakeholders in the Grains, Nutrition and Energy business unit across GrainCorp assets in NSW, QLD and New Zealand. You will contribute to the organisation's success by assisting in the identification, development, maintenance and implementation of improved environmental systems, procedures, and Sustainability initiatives.
Key responsibilities include;
- Identify any statutory obligations including licences and approvals, or other consents required by the business
- Design and implement monitoring programs and assessments/ audits for the business appropriate with the environmental protected values and nearby sensitive receptors
- Maintain site specific registers to capture, document and execute all applicable environmental regulatory licences, permits, approvals, consents
- Design and implement environmental compliance tools and conduct environmental risk assessments and systems reviews
- Assist in undertaking risk profiles across the business based on sites, environmental receptors, and common incidents
- Identification and implementation of key sustainability programs and initiatives relating to energy, water, waste
- Collection and collation of sustainability data to support data reporting requirements
- Compilation of annual returns/ annual performance statements pertaining to environmental licences, trade waste agreements and other statutory reporting requirements
About you experience
Our successful candidate will come to us with a Degree or Postgraduate qualifications in environmental science/engineering or related field and experience working in a similar operation type position.
Other key attributes are:
- Ability to undertake environmental risk assessments and inspections
- Previous experience with monitoring equipment and sampling / testing in accordance with Australian Standards
- Industry experience gained in construction, manufacturing, resource or agri-business
- Experience in identifying and implementing sustainability projects
Please note this role does have a travel requirement - likely site visits a few times a month.
