The Opportunity 

As the Environment Projects Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for guiding a team in the delivery of a range of projects including the management of Council’s trails network, weed and pest management programs on Council managed land, area rehabilitation and providing general environmental advice across the organisation.  

Some of your primary tasks may include: 

  • Supervising the day to day operations of the Environment Projects team  
  • Overseeing the delivery of various Environmental projects (pest and weed management, vegetation offsets, mosquito management, reserve management, WSUD, coastal hazards, landfill rehabilitation etc) 
  • Managing a range of Council and Community projects 
  • Promoting community awareness, education and understanding 
  • Assisting with the application for external funding for natural Environment Projects 

This is a permanent, full time opportunity and is based from the Kalimna West Depot with hybrid working available. 

Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria) 

  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field. 
  • Ability to supervise staff and volunteers, set service standards and ensure that the agreed level of service is maintained. 
  • Ability to develop and implement management plans for Council Managed Reserves. 
  • The ability to liaise effectively with a diverse group of people. 
  • Demonstrated contractor supervisory and project management experience. 
  • Demonstrated IT skills and the ability to generate the required reports, grant applications, and presentations. 
  • A current, valid Victorian Driver’s licence. 

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
