The Mt Cuthbert Group is a privately owned, Australian-based copper and gold producer with extensive exploration assets in NW Queensland. Mt Cuthbert Group acquired the Leichhardt Project in 2013, located at the remote Mount Cuthbert Mine, near the township of Kajabbi, NW QLD. In 2020, the group acquired the Rocklands site, approx. 17kms west of Cloncurry. This year will see further projects coming on line for both Rocklands and Crusader (Mt Cuthbert.)
Reporting to the Site Senior Executives (for both sites), and working as part of the leadership team you will:
- Lead the compliance for Environment Authority (EA)
- Provide guidance and technical support to Rocklands and Mt Cuthbert operating locations on standards, policy and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the reporting of notifiable environmental incidents to regulators, including compiling and submission of environmental recordable incidents reports
- Review and assist with the engagement of specialist consultants to support EA commitments.
- Support the process of connecting with your regional counterparts to drive best industry practice.
As part of a small team you will be exposed to many aspects of the operation and be expected to work closely with many departments.
To be successful you will need to have:
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent majoring in natural sciences.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 as updated
- Knowledge and understanding of copper mining and processing.
- Workplace First Aid Certificate - Senior First Aid.
- Advanced MS Office skills

The role is offered as a FIFO position from Townsville / Brisbane/ Cairns on an 8/6 or 4/3 basis. For those wishing to live in Cloncurry, a generous residential allowance will apply.
