Due to a raft of exciting opportunities, our Tasmanian operations continue to grow, as a result JBS&G are looking to recruit top tier candidates across multiple levels in the Assessments and Approvals field i.e. Junior, Mid, Senior and Principal Environmental Consultants.
About the role
As an Environmental Consultant at JBS&G you will:
• Work within project teams to produce easy to read summaries from technical information which meet the needs of clients, government and the public
• Understand basic approvals pathways under mining and / or planning legislation
• Deliver clients with simple and clear solutions to assessment and Approvals problems
• Engage with sub-consultants to determine and refine required scopes for technical environmental studies
• Produce high-quality deliverables for assessment by government regulators and communication to the public.
About you
In addition to a minimum of 3 to 20 years’ of professional experience, candidates with the following key attributes will be looked at favourably:
• A relevant degree in science, environmental management, law, engineering or similar.
• Experience operating within Tasmania in the environmental field.
• Experience in report writing and/or environmental management plans, impact assessments, project controls and/or field work/environmental monitoring.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and enthusiasm to take on challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with respect to co-workers and clients.
• Ability to deliver commercial and technical solutions and innovation with dedication to the provision of the best outcome for the client on each project.
• Sound report writing and technical reviewing skills.
• Comply with all statutory and company HSSE policies, standards and procedures, and instigate and follow safe work practices.
• Willingness to travel if required.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Available for immediate start.
• Diligence to effectively manage project budgets, timelines and resources.
More experienced professionals will have:
• Experience (15+ years) of environmental assessment and Approvals work in Victoria with strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance.
• Proven ability to manage clients, projects and teams, ensuring that projects can be delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to build networks with some business development experience.
