A lot of our work is on mine sites so we have to deal with the officialism.The official job title is Environmental Field Officer.In a nutshell, you will be in the field, collecting enviromental samples - surface water and groundwater, potable water, dust, soil, noise etc. Then, you will pack those samples and send them off for analysis. You will also be responsible for recording data about those samples.This list is not exhaustive, but these are the main things you will be doing:
- Conduct field tasks and record field observations in accordance with 4T procedures
- Operate and maintain field testing equipment to Australian and EPA Standards
- Communicate effectively with landholders, site managers, staff and stakeholdersSecure and manage samples in accordance with 4T procedures and standards
- Organise work plans to achieve project goals and timelines in association with the Operations Manager
- Comply with any site specific standards for projectsCarry out maintenance tasks on equipmentMaintain computer records relating to field data
- Check data prepared by other senior staff members
- Support the other field team members in their workLeave work areas tidy after use
- Contribute to the achievement of the company’s mission and goalsContribute to the development of company Policies and Procedures

- Experience in extended outdoor work.
- We work on a lot of mine sites, so experience doing that is favoured.
- WHS Focus - Ability to recognise, manage and follow workplace health and safety directions.
- Fit for work and able to carry 25kg eskies.
- Practical engineering mindset will be very helpful.
- Ability to be mobile, as some projects will require overnight stays of up to a week.
