Envite Environment is a division of Workways Australia, a not-for-profit employment and community services provider. Envite delivers training and education programs in conservation and land management empowering individuals to protect their local environment, and increase employment opportunities. Envite are now seeking a Supervisor to join our Townsville team.

Funded by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation we have are looking for a Supervisor to run our ‘Reef Revolution – Empowerment through Nature’ program starting in March 2024. Partnering with Queensland Correctional Services, this innovative pilot project is a community collaboration delivering ecological restoration works along Mundy Creek to reduce negative impacts to the reef catchment, while delivering an engaging capacity building program to empower low classification prisoners through connection to nature and working on country.
About the Role
Location- Townsville, QLD
Position - Environmental Supervisor (12 week contract)
As a part of our valued team, you’ll be responsible for supervising teams undertaking ecological restoration activities in a variety of ecosystems.
We are seeking motivated and experienced bush regeneration supervisors. The ideal candidate will: have strong leadership skills, be a caring and capable mentor, be able effectively to engage with stakeholders, attention to detail, the ability to schedule work, high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Criteria
Certificate III in Conservation & Land Management or equivalent
Minimum 3 years bush regeneration experience
Drivers Licence
Experience leading teams whilst undertaking ecological restoration.
Ability to effectively communicate and mentor individuals from all walks of life.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
White Card (Construction)
Physically fit, motivated and capable of working in challenging outdoor environments
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
Understanding and ability to follow WHS policies and procedures
ACDC Licence
Senior First Aid & CPR
Desirable Criteria
Chainsaw Certificate Level 1 & 2
Selected candidates are required to provide proof of right to work in Australia and undertake a criminal record check.
