ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

ABOUT THE ROLE

A Clinical Facilitator acts as a university representative to provide support and mentorship to students whilst out on clinical placements. The role involves periodic casual work supervising students in years 2, 3 and 4 of their studies across various facilities in Perth. The usual commitment is approximately 3 hours per week/per student for 3 out of the 5 weeks they are on placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise/support/mentor students whilst on placement
  • Identify students at risk, liaise with the clinical education team and the site supervisor to ensure appropriate supports and strategies are put into place
  • Providing both verbal and written feedback to the students about their performance
  • Completion of relevant professional development/supervision training through the university
  • Attendance at meetings as required by the Director of Clinical Education
  • Other duties as identified by the Director of Clinical Education.
  • Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.

 ABOUT YOU

  • Qualified to at least a minimum of an undergraduate qualification and be an AHPRA registered Physiotherapist
  • Significant relevant clinical experience
  • Experience with the clinical supervision of students or relevant post-graduate studies
  • Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture
  • Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students.
