About the role
Thiess Lake Vermont has an Expression of interest for Leading Handfor our Ancillary workshop reporting to the Field Maintenance Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland.
- Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.
- Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results.
- Supervise servicing, repairs and maintenance of equipment in our Ancillary workshop
- Follow work instructions and complete all paperwork to a high standard.
- Opening and Closing work orders, sourcing parts as required
- Ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained ensuring a safe work environment.
- Have a good work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, be able to work as an individual within the maintenance team, be able to think ahead & lead with initiative.
- Commitment to Risk Management and Safe Work.
Roster and Conditions
- 7 on 7 off rotating shift roster
- 12.50 hour shifts
- Charter Flights Brisbane - employees need to permanently live within 200km of the Brisbane CBD
- BIBO from Mackay, Rockhampton & Yeppoon
About you
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
- Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or Light vehicle mechanic or relevant equivalent
- Post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry.
- Experience in maintaining equipment such as pumps, generators and Light Vehicles
- Experience in leading and supervising staff
- Experience in raising and closing work orders and track record of ordering parts
