About the Role:
Sydney Airport is seeking a dynamic and highly organised EPMO Project Controllerto join our team. Reporting to the EPMO Process Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for all project control-related queries. This role is pivotal in supporting, training, and upskilling our project community while leading the Project Gate Review process to ensure all projects meet our organisational standards.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading Project Gate Reviews:
- Ensure all project gate requirements are met with high standards.
- Develop robust schedule and cost plans for upcoming project phases.
- Support project teams with expert reviews and provide outcomes to governance forums.
- Approval Timeline Management:
- Develop and manage approval timelines using project schedules.
- Monitor project timelines and report deviations promptly.
- Schedule Management:
- Develop and maintain a schedule management framework, including templates and guidance documentation.
- Provide training to project teams on planning, building, and maintaining schedules.
- Conduct ad hoc reviews to assess schedule health and identify risks.
- Risk Management:
- Assist project teams with risk identification processes.
- Ensure risks are captured during gate reviews and provide insights at the program/portfolio level.
- Project Reporting:
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop monthly Project Status Reports.
- Review the accuracy and completeness of project data.
- Develop standard tools, templates, and processes aligned with industry best practices.
What does success look like:
- You will be the go-to person for all Project Gate Review queries.
- Project Gate Reviews will be completed and findings submitted to governance forums.
- Improved schedule health and consistent tracking/reporting of key milestones.
- Monthly project reports with complete and accurate information.
What experience will you bring:
- Education and experience
- Relevant tertiary education or equivalent work experience in a PMO/Project Management role.
- 2+ years’ experience as a PMO or Project / Program Controller.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end project/program delivery life cycle.
- Experience in facilitating training for small groups.
- Soft skills
- Highly organised with great attention to detail.
- Strong customer focus and service delivery standards.
- Proactive, resourceful self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multifunctional team.
- Resilience and adaptability to change and ambiguity.
