The Opportunity

With increased Sales and a healthy order bank we are currently looking for a full time or permanent part time, experienced Estimator. You will be energetic, dedicated, have an eye for detail, and will pride yourself on your exceptional time management skills.
Reporting directly to our Estimating Manager, your primary focus will be to ensure accurate and timely preparation of Sales and Purchasing Estimating activities for our residential home builds.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Prepare and document accurate cost estimates for tenders and variations.
- Data entry as required for new products and components.
- Building Bill of Quantities with formulas and components
- Update and manage supplier products and pricing.
- Assess and prepare purchase and work orders using software systems (Estimating and Scheduling Programs)
- Analysis of budget expectations for future projects
- Interpret technical specifications to ensure correct quantities are ordered.
- Prepare and document accurate cost estimates for tenders, variations, and re-tenders.
- Calculate fixed site costs and quantities, maintaining inventories for standard options.
- Liaising with and managing enquiries from internal and external stakeholders such as Sales, Operations and Suppliers, Trades and Construction
- Provide accurate pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations.
- Interpret civil and structural engineering plans to derive accurate site costs.
- Complete set tasks and achieve job targets within designated time frames.
- Obtain relevant quotes and pricing for non-standard variations.
The successful applicant must be passionate about a career in the Residential Construction Industry and bring an enthusiastic and committed focus to prepare project trade packages, trade preliminaries, purchase and work orders and contract documentation as required. In keeping with the outstanding reputation of the business you must have exceptional customer service skills.
What you will bring to our Business:
Ideally, we are looking for someone who:
- Has worked in the Residential Construction Industry / Building Industry Supply or Manufacturing for at least a year.
- Is customer service focused and committed to providing exceptional customer service and communication.
- Has an eagerness to learn and be a part of a supportive team.
- Has analytical skills and competency reading architectural plans, engineering, and soil reports.
- Has strong numerical skills, demonstrated attention to detail, meticulous time management and organisation skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ha the ability to proactively problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Knowledge of Databuild and Framework software would be advantageous, as would holding a Construction Induction Card (White Card) and having a formal qualification in Estimating.
