Opportunity Awaits - Estimator Position
Role Overview:
We're excited to offer a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team in one of the most sought-after sea change locations.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in estimating and managing construction costs, ensuring optimal outcomes for both our clients and the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret plans and specifications to efficiently produce accurate estimates.
- Obtain quotes and costings from suppliers and subcontractors, which align with specified materials and labour for budgeted works.
- Prepare and review fixed price quotes for our clients.
- Monitor and approve costs during the construction phase.
- Generate purchase orders with clear and accurate information.
- Negotiate and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve business cost savings.
- Maintain master Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for precise and effective cost control.
- Prepare variations as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with all stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years estimating experience in residential and medium-density projects.
- Proficient with a full understanding of Databuild.
- Ability to interpret plans, tenders, and specifications.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of residential construction.
- Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to devise and implement process improvements.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to excel.
