Flinders Lane Event Manager
Flinders Lane is seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our team in delivering incredible events and working with clients to create memorable experiences.
- Location: Flinders Lane, Townsville CBD
- Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
- Salary: Negotiable based on skills and experience
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, with weekend and evening hours as required by the event calendar

About Us:
Flinders Lane is a multi-dimensional venue in the heart of Townsville’s CBD, offering four unique spaces that can be used individually or collectively to cater to corporate functions, private events, and community gatherings. From intimate occasions to grand community celebrations, we strive to provide exceptional service and deliver remarkable events.
Position Overview:
You will be responsible for managing client enquiries, overseeing private hire event execution, working with vendors to ensure smooth operations and working closely with the team to deliver larger scale events. You will also play a key role in the creative development of events, networking with industry professionals and assisting with marketing and promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact from initial inquiry through to event execution.
- Listen to clients and upsell additional services to enhance client experiences.
- Coordinate with event vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the events team on creative development of events and execution of large-scale events.
- Network with industry professionals to build relationships and advocate for Flinders Lane
- Assist with social media management and marketing including, including content creation and engagement
- Manage the event bookings calendar in coordination with the Venue Manager and Business Development Manager
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and event information.
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years experience in event coordination or relevant education.
- Superior time management and organisational skills, ability to thrive under pressure
- Excellent customer service skills and proven point of sale skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptable, proactive and solution-orientated, must be able to think on your feet
- Experience in working with community based organisations, event organisers and promoters in event planning and delivery is highly desirable.
- Experience in the local wedding or corporate function industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of social media and marketing
