About the role
As we continue to grow our operations and diversify our workforce, we have developed a new role to support the important work of our Healthcare Practitioners.
As a Healthcare Practitioner, you will work alongside our Event Medics, Responders, Nurses, Paramedics, and Doctors in providing emergency medical assistance to injured or ill persons in collaboration with other clinicians or services.
In the role of the Healthcare Practitioner, you will form part of our field healthcare teams, providing first aid, healthcare interventions, and emergency response capability to a wide range of community events and gatherings, or industrial settings with the potential for multi-day deployments.
To be successful in this role, applicants are assessed and selected through a merit-based process, with a focus on:
- Qualifications (Cert IV in Healthcare Ambulance, EN/RN or Paramedic Registration) or current study in a relevant course;
- Personal and professional presentation;
- Compliance with State and/or Federal Government Vaccination Directions/Mandates for healthcare workers;
- Relevance of clinical and non-clinical experience;
- Ability to drive and willingness to travel intrastate with some multi-day deployments;
- Satisfactory outcome of pre-employment checks, including a current DCSI Working with Children Check, Pre-Employment Medical Assessment (where requested), and Reference Checks, as well as the provision of satisfactory evidence as relevant to your clinical accreditation level.
Successful applicants
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Maintain your qualifications, current clinical competency, and relevant registration to practice
- Maintain competency in Basic and Advanced Life Support as relevant to your qualifications
- Maintain your qualifications and your DCSI Working with Children check on an ongoing basis
These roles are well suited to clinicians and budding clinicians who want to push themselves to develop confidence and competency in a range of clinical settings as independent health professionals.
