The Event Operations Assistant Manager manages the successful delivery of catered events. It involves overseeing casual staff, enforcing adherence to policies and procedures, and operating within budget limitations to meet targeted goals. During quieter periods, the role also undertakes some of the day-to-day management of the Gallery's food and beverage outlets, ensuring their effective operation.
This is a not a 9 to 5 role and will require the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in their work times with the majority of shifts rotated over 7 days, including evenings and weekends.
The Event Operations Assistant Manager will have experience in a similar role with outstanding hospitality and communication skills.
- Provide operational supervision and delivery of Gallery catered events over a 7-day roster including weekends and evenings.
- Review and analyse the daily operational needs, ensuring quality, consistency and financial targets are met consistently.
- Recruit, induct, train and oversee casual front of house staff, including monitoring performance in accordance with department requirements.
- Ensure the training and development of casual front of house staff
- Manage the Point-of-Sale system including product updates and data analysis.
- Oversee and manage outlet bookings, customer communication and complaint management.
- Develop weekly rosters that meet labour requirements, reporting to the Operations Manager on staff resources and requirements.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Gallery's food and beverage outlets, as required.
- Assist in the development of, oversee and adhere to standard operating procedures, staff training programs and sequence of service.
- Observe industry trends, suggest and develop new service styles and menu improvements.
- Assist in maintaining beverage stock levels and complete stocktake as required. .
- Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months and may be considered for other vacancies (identical or similar).
