Avondale University is seeking an Events and Marketing Officer to join our Advancement team on a full-time basis.
This exciting role will have you managing, coordinating and delivering recruitment, experiential and educational events for current and prospective students at Avondale University. You will also contribute revenue growth for Avondale by attracting to campus external events.
What will you do?
Some of the main duties will include:
- Help to manage and coordinate campus visits for school groups and individual prospective students.
- Help to manage and coordinate on-campus corporate events and conferences that generate a revenue or connect Avondale to important stakeholder groups.
- Help to organise Avondale’s Open Days and online information sessions for prospective students.
- Conceptualise Avondale’s presence at careers exhibitions and events.
- Help to coordinate Avondale’s presence at Seventh-day Adventist Church camp meetings in Australia and New Zealand.
- Help to attract new external events to campus and secure repeat events.
- Help to develop processes, terms and conditions relative to hosting of on-campus external events.
- Promote Avondale’s Seventh-day Adventist mission and ethos through all communication.

You possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, have exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, and work well with people of different ages and backgrounds. Essential criteria
- A university degree in Communication, Marketing, Hospitality, Events or other relevant discipline.
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional ability to project manage, conceptualise and theme events.
- Well-developed capability to brief service providers, communicate with event stakeholders and manage the financial aspects of event delivery.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to problem solve.
- Attention to detail.
- Advanced IT and database management skills.
- An ability to understand and support equal opportunity principles.
- An understanding of and a willingness to support the mission, values and ethos of Avondale University, as a Seventh-day Adventist institution.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work outside regular working hours, including on weekends, as necessary.

Salary: Level 5 $66,146 – $74,021 per annum, plus superannuation.
