After opening Sum Yung Guys in 2017, this much anticipated second venture is set to open in September, where a successful candidate will be part of the pre-opening team. At Pelicano guests will revel in refined elegance, taste the flavours of the nearby sea and enjoy breathtaking views over the waterfront.
Pelicano is also home to a 400-bin, temperature-controlled cellar of fine wine. The spotlight will fall on Australian classics both near and afar. In addition, we celebrate the classically made, lesser-known varieties from around the world, just as worthy of our diners’ consideration.

About the Role:
At Pelicano the role of our Sales and Events Executive is paramount. Tasked with exacting oversight of all event operations, you will generate sales leads as well as facilitating event operations. A successful candidate will be a passionate, hard working professional with higher level management and Sales experience. You will be expected to have exceptional presentation of yourself and a professional, energetic approach to your work.
Some of your Duties:
- Sales and Marketing: Develop a plan and method to make contact with clients in order to generate sales leads. As well as the delivery of ideas and concepts for future events. A successful candidate will implement strategies to improve productivity and Sales.
- Operations: Coordinate site visits as well as subsequent meetings, facilitate the bump in/out of all events as well as overseeing event operations.
- Administrative: Build and coordinate third party applications and systems. Document, record and maintain a database of all clients and update as necessary.
- Financial KPIs: Meeting projected sales budgets, rostering and managing labour efficiency.
Desired Requirements and Skills:
- Experience: 5+ years in a similar role (SALES experience mandatory)
- Computer literacy: Extensive knowledge in building and maintaining event reservation systems. The ability to develop and deliver BEO's.
- Management Skills: Strong leadership, motivational and people skills. Work to build positive and commercially advantageous relationships with both vendors and clients.
