Who We Are:

Cannoleria Australia is a unique concept specialising in the traditional Sicilian dessert, Cannoli. Cannoleria operates five cannoli stores around Melbourne (with two more on the way), a wholesale department, and a fast-growing events department.

In addition to Cannoleria, we also operate UGO Cucina and UGO Burrata Bar, offering authentic Italian dining experiences. Our events department manages private events for all our brands, ensuring each occasion, whether for Cannoleria, UGO Cucina, or UGO Burrata Bar, is uniquely memorable. As an Italian-based food and events company, we are expanding rapidly and looking for the right people to join our journey.

About the Role:

As the Events Supervisor, you will oversee and execute a wide range of events across our portfolio of event spaces, including weddings, corporate functions, public events, private dinners and social gatherings. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring each event is flawlessly executed, leaving a lasting impression on our clients and their guests.

This role is extremely hands-on and operates outside of normal hours (weekends, evening and public holidays).You may also be required to work autonomously at some events, as well as travel long distances to event locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination: Plan, deliver, and execute all events, ensuring specifications are met and logistical details are in place.
  • On-Site Management: Set up and pack down events independently to a scheduled deadline, ensuring smooth operations on event days.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise your dedicated events team, providing direction and guidance for flawless execution.
  • Customer Interaction: Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new guests to create memorable moments and enable future bookings.
  • Administrative Support: Manage inquiries, correspondence, and financial records to ensure budget compliance and positive financial outcomes.
  • Operational Duties: Maintain event stock and equipment areas, organize ordering and prep of required products in advance, and handle physical tasks like loading/unloading vehicles.
  • Compliance: Ensure high-quality F&B product standards and adhere to food safety standards.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role or management experience in events or the hospitality industry.
  • Skills: Exceptional organisational skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks, and impeccable presentation skills.
  • Attributes: Motivated, enthusiastic, resilient, and hands-on. Must have a full driver’s license and be comfortable driving larger vehicles. Forklift license is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Availability: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and some public holidays. Must have full working rights in Australia.


Day-to-Day Tasks:

  • Loading and unloading event materials
  • Setting up and liaising with operations and event organisers
  • Conducting site assessments and adhering to OH&S standards
  • Leading the team and ensuring all checklists are followed
  • Using initiative and building a strong team for potential interstate expansion
     

About You:

  • Charismatic with outstanding communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
  • Not afraid to work in a team or autonomously. 
  • Confident driving a van or small truck.
  • Personal presentation is on point and comfortable being customer-facing.
  • Ready to take ownership and drive the business forward.
  • Love hands on work - this is not an office based job. 
  • Be confident and not afraid of appearing on camera/across social media.

Additional Information:

Please note, this role involves heavy lifting, working late nights, and requires a valid driver's license. Hospitality experience is a plus but not mandatory. You may be seen across social media and other media platforms at big events. As a result, you will need to be confident with this.
