DAIWS provides safe crisis Domestic Violence emergency and transitional FDSV accommodation for women and children escaping FDSV and delivers DV Outreach Women and Children’s programs. DAIWS has also established the Darwin Indigenous Men’s Service, as part of a cultural holistic approach to FDV.
About the Role: The Executive Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the General Manager in managing DAIWS day-to-day administration, providing Board support, and liaising with staff and key stakeholders as DAIWS enters a new phase in the organisation’s growth and development. The Executive Support Officer provides a high level of professional administrative support to the General Manager (GM).The position analyses and collates information to provide executive support to the General Manager. The position will liaise with internal and external stakeholders including, DAIWS Management, Board of Directors, Funding Body’s, Service providers and the public. The Executive Support Officer ensures the General Manager is prepared and informed on relevant matters in a timely manner. This includes proactively managing the GM’s diary, responding to telephone calls. investigating, and preparing necessary documentation and correspondence in a timely manner. In providing this support the Executive Support Officer exercises a high degree of communication competence, initiative, discretion, and confidentiality. The Executive Support Officer will be a strong advocate for the Northern Territory Aboriginal Domestic Violence sector and contribute to DAIWS in the delivery of a quality of service and the development and implementation of policies and programs ensuring alignment with DAIW’s Vision, Mission, and Strategy.
