Details: Major Projects Canberra (MPC) are seeking an experienced leader to fill the position of Executive Branch Manager, Infrastructure Project Solutions, Project Management Office, for a period of six months from 3 June 2024 with the possibility of extension up to nine months.

The Executive Branch Manager works collaboratively with MPC Executives and Project Directors to provide assurance across infrastructure projects and to ensure continuous improvement.

This Executive is responsible for managing MPC’s project systems, framework, procedures, and capability including training and lessons learned.

The Executive Branch Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of a range of MPC and Whole of Government functions such as:

  • Administering the ACT Government and National Prequalification Schemes.
  • Contract creation and maintaining the Territories Standard Suite of Construction Contracts.
  • Maintaining the MPC Project Delivery Framework which provides tools and resources which support MPC Officers in meeting their legislative and policy obligations when delivering projects.
  • Providing the Project Management and Reporting System (PMARS) for whole of government use, including managing the vendor contract and providing help desk and system administration functions.
  • Supporting the development of new designated projects and supporting partner directorates in developing capital works business cases.
  • Providing oversight and assurance of project controls activities including program and portfolio level reporting and data analysis to support informed decision making by the MPC Executive and broader Government stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • The position requires a person with exceptional leadership, relationship management and strategic thinking skills.
  • A proven record in project governance, contract and project controls management for the delivery of infrastructure projects is essential. Equally, a track record of establishing a team and developing a can-do attitude in the team of achieving milestones in a dynamic environment is critical.
  • Knowledge of the ACT Government or other State Government procurement and delivery processes would be highly regarded, along with experience of project delivery within public private partnerships or the procurement/delivery of transportation assets and infrastructure.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or Management, Contract Management, Project Management or a related discipline or equivalent experience would be an advantage.

Note: Selection may be based on written application and referee reports only.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $258,855 - $269,201 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $229,915

Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a short-term contract for a period of up to nine months.
