Chief Financial Officer - Program Manager, Finance And Procurement Branch

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking a Senior Executive Band 1 (Program Manager) to fill a current vacancy as Chief Financial Officer in the Finance and Procurement Branch of our Corporate Services Division.
The key duties of the position include
As the Program Manager, Finance and Procurement Branch, you will act as the Chief Financial Officer for the organisation, supporting the ABS to meet its financial accountability and responsibilities to Government and the Parliament. You are a member of the leadership team contributing towards ABS' strategic priorities and management of the ABS and lead a professional team responsible for the overall financial and Procurement management of the ABS.
The Chief Financial Officer works closely with senior executives as a key advisor and is responsible for developing the ABS' finance strategy and implementing associated practices and procedures to effectively manage the ABS' financial resources.
Responsibilities include:

• developing and implementing accounting policies and processes that guide the ABS' external financial reporting
• the management of financial statements preparation
• monthly financial reporting to the Department of Finance
• tax management
• treasury and cash management; asset management
• accounts processing and financial policy development
• setting and managing the annual operating and capital external budgets process and internal budget allocations including monthly performance and forecast reporting to the senior executives.
