Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is one of the world’s largest urban fire and rescue services and is the busiest in Australia. Its overriding purpose is to enhance community safety, quality of life, and confidence by minimising the impact of hazards and emergency incidents on the people, property, environment and on the economy of NSW. Its capabilities extend far beyond fighting fires. FRNSW firefighters are among the most highly trained in the world. Its teams provide fire prevention, they respond to hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters and medical emergencies. Their teams also undertake counter terrorism and urban search and rescue operations.

The role of Executive Director/Deputy Commissioner Business Coordination, Compliance and Reporting has been created to establish and lead a new directorate with a team around 60 people including 7 direct reports. The scope of responsibility includes Property, Fleet, Governance Audit & Legal, Performance & Insights, and Enterprise Portfolio Management for FRNSW.

We are seeking an executive with experience leading large, multi-functional teams and an outstanding track record of implementing strategies that deliver improved culture, business and operational performance. Proven ability to provide strategic policy advice and drive change in a large complex environment is also essential. Your leadership experience showing strengths in governance may have been in corporate or public sector operational settings.
