About the Role

Catholic Homes is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive General Manager of Qualityand Clinical Governance to join our Executive Leadership Team. A newly created role, this is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and advancing our strategic initiatives across the areas of Quality assurance and Clinical Governance to ensure regulatory compliance and provide best practice clinical care to our residents and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Embracing our Vision, Values and Statement of Identity, the Executive General Manager of Qualityand Clinical Governance role will be responsible for: 

Leadership & Governance

  • Understand and act in accordance with Catholic Homes’ governance framework ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures and promoting ethical standards and best practice.
  • Provide operational advice to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Catholic Homes.
  • Ensure the Clinical Governance Committee and Board are apprised of organisational clinical risks on a proactive and ongoing basis.
  • Assume direct management of and oversee the Quality and Clinical Governance Teams.
  • Provide clear expectations and set the standard for diversity and inclusion regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, belief and cultural practices.  

Strategy

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of the Catholic Homes Strategic Plan.
  • Identify and respond to trends and challenges in the aged care sector.
  • Create, implement and manage Clinical Governance, Quality and compliance frameworks that enable standardised and efficient service delivery at the front line.

Quality, Clinical Governance & Risk Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of Clinical Governance and risk frameworks for best practice and audit compliance.
  • Partner across the organisation to ensure all quality, compliance and operational risk related activities are managed in a timely and appropriate manner satisfying the organisations obligations.
  • Support operations in customer investigations and remedies, reporting, identification of continuous improvement and policy development.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in a Legal, Commerce, Human Services or Allied Health, Clinical Governance, or a related discipline 
  • APRHA registration desirable.
  • Significant experience in senior management roles relating to organisational quality, compliance, risk and Clinical management.
  • Highly developed knowledge of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Standards and Framework.
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build to trust, credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation. 
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and problem solve adopting innovative solutions and out of the box thinking.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, motivating and inspiring a high performing team.
  • Purpose drive with strong alignment to the organisations values.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
  • Current GAICD membership or working towards (desirable).
