Established in 1940, Gowrie WA is the oldest early childhood Education and Care provider in Western Australia. We are proudly not-for-profit, operating three metropolitan centres and opening our first regional centre in coming months. We have a very rare opportunity for an experienced person to take the role of Executive Lead - Education and Care.

As Executive Lead - Education and Care, you will be responsible for providing overall exceptional leadership, direction, support, assistance, mentoring and coaching to our current and future team of Education and Care Leads (centre leaders), the Quality and Compliance/Educational Leader, and educators. Our Education and Care Leads are high performing integral leaders and managers who promote and support the Gowrie WA purpose and values, and our culture of being positively responsible and accountable. As Executive Lead, you will exemplify our purpose of nurturing the potential of the formative years for the benefit of children, families and community. 

The Executive Lead - Education and Care will be responsible for talent acquisition and onboarding, leadership and management, and all duties relating to people, performance and culture. You will work with and alongside the leaders to continuously foster and promote our culture of teamwork and fun, professional and personal development, fairness and equity, inclusion and diversity, recognition and acknowledgement, and responsibility and accountability. 

Working in collaboration with the Education and Care Leads, and the Quality and Compliance/Educational Leader, the Executive Lead - Education and Care will ensure legislative requirements are being followed in accordance with the National Quality Framework, and that Gowrie WA centres meet and where possible exceed the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards. You will take pride in working with the Leads and teams to build, maintain, and promote, high quality innovative and sustainable learning environments, quality programs, and service excellence. 

The Executive Lead - Education and Care will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other Executive Leads to grow our organisation in to communities that have a need for high quality Education and Care, in line with our strategic goals. A willingness to be involved with the Gowrie WA Board as required and requested, is essential. The Executive Lead - Education and Care will manage and lead strategic projects, approvals, submissions, reporting, risk management, and applications, and will actively work to promote and market all Gowrie sites and services.

You will have the following skills, abilities, and experiences:

  • A minimum of Diploma level qualification in ECEC or equivalent 
  • A minimum of two years experience in a leadership/management role
  • A thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and licensing 
  • A friendly and professional manner, and positive attitude
  • A genuine passion for team work, and building engaged, valued, and high performing teams and relationships
  • A positive can-do attitude and a willingness to assist, support and mentor
  • Demonstrated high level attention to detail and problem solving
  • Highly motivated, committed and driven, with the ability to be flexible and manage your time and a wide range of demands
  • Willingness and ability to travel
