As an Executive Manager, Analytics, you would lead the GA&A Analytics - Centre of Excellence to drive high quality audit analytics outcomes by advancing the use of analytics and data science within GA&A. You will ensure the 30+ audit analytics resources, have the tools, methodology, training, and quality oversight they need to provide high quality insights to senior stakeholders. You would work across the three lines of accountability (3LOA) to improve the overall risk management across the Group.
Your manager would be the General Manager, Strategy & Transformation, and the higher up would be the Chief Operating Officer, GA&A.

Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provides independent, objective, and commercial risk focused assurance to the Board Audit Committee (BAC) to assist the Group in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of its stakeholders.
GA&A consists of over 230 professional audit team members, who conduct internal Audit and advisory reviews group wide. The team works closely with senior management and teams across the business, including Line 1 and Line 2 risk management, and external auditors. GA&A provides feedback to management on improving their control environment, as well as sharing learnings, including commercial insights and improvement opportunities.
GA&A has an ambitious transformation agenda and aspires to be the global leader of the audit profession. In 2023, GA&A was recognised as an ABA 200 Winner of the Australian Business Award for Business Innovation and Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape and drive the strategic direction for analytics and data science within the department.
Provide thought leadership on emerging opportunities and risks associated with analytics and data science.
Partner with the GA&A teams to effectively utilise analytics resources and drive increased use of Analytics and Data Science within the Audit process.
Create trust with senior stakeholders across GA&A in the value of analytics and its applicability to the audit process.
Support the development of AI enabled digital assets that leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Maintain high quality standards for audit analytics output through effective quality assurance and technical review.
Support the roll-out of training programs across GA&A to uplift staff capability and hire analytics talent into the Audit teams.
Evolve analytics methodology to meet the needs of GA&A.
Drive high performance by taking accountability and leading audit team members to achieve GA&A strategic targets and goals.
Build and maintain strong relations across the teams within Group Audit and wider stakeholders across the Group.
Foster a culture of innovation and agile ways of working.
We are seeking people who have:
Extensive experience in a senior analytics or data science role, preferably in an Audit or Risk domain.
Demonstrated expert knowledge of analytical codes, tools, and techniques (SQL, Python, R, Tableau).
Hands-on experience in developing, implementing, or validating models.
Tenacity, persistence and personal resilience during time of change.
Demonstrable experience with influencing and driving outcomes at scale with a proactive risk-mindset.
Driven by solutions not problems when operating with an Agility mindset.
Adept in establishing and growing excellent relationships across the Group Audit and Assurance community and wider stakeholder groups.
Experience building and developing high performance teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Tech skills:
We use a broad range of innovative tools, scalable platforms and process frameworks as a technology driven banking organization. We use Teradata, H2O.ai, Hadoop, R, Python, and other specialised tools to carry out our work. We use these tools for traditional BI Analytics, as well as more advanced machine learning models.
We do not expect you to know them all but deep experience or exposure one of the core areas of Audits, risk, including leading largely diverse group of auditing teams and crews in a similar environment will set you up for success in this role.
