Job Description: As the Executive Officer of the Australian Wild Game Industry Council, you will play a crucial role in steering the strategic direction and championing the success of the organisation. This position involves working with a group of dedicated members to deliver initiatives, advocating for our members, and influencing the future of the industry on both a domestic and international stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Craft and execute strategic plans that align with our mission and goals. Lead growth and innovation to maintain and enhance the council’s relevance and success.
- Advocacy and Representation: Act as the primary spokesperson, representing the council’s interests to government bodies, industry partners, and the public. Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders to advocate for industry priorities.
- Membership Engagement: Deeply understand member needs and develop resources to boost their professional growth and business success.
- Financial Management: Manage the council’s financial operations with a focus on budgeting, fundraising, and revenue generation to ensure fiscal health and transparency.
- Operational Excellence: Lead organizational functions and program development with a commitment to collaboration and excellence.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Establish strategic partnerships to further the council’s goals and initiatives.
- Board Governance: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to facilitate strategic decision-making and ensure effective governance.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership and management experience, preferably within a membership-based association or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural commodities, including international and domestic markets.
- Skilled in strategic planning, advocacy, and program development.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, capable of influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Financial management expertise with experience in budgeting and revenue generation.
- Visionary leadership style with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field; preferred.
