The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
Regulatory Policy, Insights and Review Division
The Regulatory Policy, Insights and Review Division supports the NDIS Commission's delivery of legislative functions through strategic policy development and advice, market design and oversight, data and analysis activities, major projects and initiatives. This includes innovative and strategic thinking, data analysis and evidence reviews, to solve complex policy issues that facilitate upholding the rights of people with disability through regulation of the NDIS market, to enable the provision of safe and quality supports.
Through leadership of the Executive Support team and management of workflow, the Executive Officer will provide high level administrative support and coordination support to the Deputy Commissioner. The Executive Officer will identify linkages, anticipate needs and develop solutions where required, and provide strategic advice to support the Deputy Commissioner on a day-to-day basis to ensure they are able to operate efficiently and effectively.
The key duties of the position include
The Executive Officer's responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Providing high-level executive support (including strategic advice, business/ divisional planning and project management) to the Deputy Commissioner in the day-to-day operations of the NDIS Commission.
- Proactively manage workflow through the Office of the Deputy Commissioner including providing analysis, advice on context and coordinating any necessary follow up to ensure priorities and deadlines are met.
- Produce correspondence and communications materials to support the promulgation of critical agency messages and priorities; including drafting briefs on complex/sensitive matters or coordinating requests for information on behalf of the Executive Office.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, with the requirement to independently respond appropriately to a range of routine, sensitive or urgent agency matters with ease.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights on policy related matters
- Manage the secretariat function for the RPIR Leadership Team meetings, including, coordinating papers, preparing minutes and action items and preparing forward programs for meetings.
