Provide high level Executive Project and operational support to the City Services & Living Division, facilitating the effective, timely and integrated achievement of Divisional projects, priorities, and outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
- Contributing to development and implementation of key strategic projects for the City Services & Living Division, including strategies, policies, programs, projects, and events, to offer provision in achievement of identified Divisional and/or team objectives.
- Maintaining a high-level understanding of key internal or external matters that could impact the City Services & Living Division, including implications arising from changes to legislation, regulation, policies, and strategies, ensuring staff within the division are aware of key risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinating the preparation of Divisional submissions, reporting and applications, where relevant.
- Provide key stakeholders and community organisations with strategic advice and analysis to support their planning and advocacy for services or programs to meet community needs across the municipality
- Coordinating stakeholder forums to guide the development and implementation of community services issues.
- Building collaborative and respected relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and resolve complex issues.
- Represent the City Services & Living Division in cross business projects and cross functional teams and various internal and external forums as required.
- Prepare correspondence, applications, and reports for authorisation by the Executive Office City Services & Living, as required.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
- Experience in advancing complex work programs and ensuring adherence to key timelines, including proven project management skills.
- Demonstrated high level of attention to detail.
- In conjunction with the Executive Officer City Services & Living, co-ordinate responses to a range of existing and emerging community services / City Services & Living issues, providing oversight, and ensuring delivery of outcomes in a timely manner.
- Sound understanding of the community services sector and the long-term goals of Council in relation to the City Services & Living Directorate.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, influencing, and implementing public policy and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in analysing and investigating existing and emerging issues and provide strategic advice and recommendations to facilitate the achievement of outcomes.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, including the demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex and time sensitive environments.
- Proven experience building collaborative and respected relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and resolve complex issues.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, influencing, and implementing public policy and long- term strategies.
