The Team
The Office of General Manager manages Council and Committee meetings and ensures our compulsory reporting requirements are met. They are responsible for organising briefings and workshops offered to our Councillors and that the Code of Meeting Practice is adhered to. The Role
In this role of Executive Services Officer, you will contribute to supporting the administration of Council Meetings, Standing Committee Meetings, Advisory Committee Meetings and other working parties or groups of Council that support the decision making of the Council. Key tasks and duties of this role includes:
- The preparation of business papers, registration of requests from the public to speak at Council or Committee Meetings, accurate minute taking at Council or Committee Meetings, distribution of actions following Council resolution.
- The maintenance of the ‘Outstanding Actions from Council Resolutions Register’, including periodic reporting to Council.
- Providing support to Council Directors and Managers with drafting Notices of Motion and responses to Questions with Notice for monthly Council meetings, offering project background and recommendations where appropriate.
- Providing administrative support of the Office of the General Manager and Office of the Mayor and Councillors.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone with demonstrated experience understanding the Local Government Act 1993 and the legislative requirements. You are someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to produce and edit written material of a high standard without supervision.

- High level information technology and systems skills including demonstrated experience with InfoCouncil and detailed spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of expectations including consultation with stakeholders to ensure best possible fit between Council and community requirements and project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyse complex issues.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to issues which are, at times, of a sensitive nature.
About the opportunity and what we can offer you
- Permanent, Full-Time- 70 hours per fortnight
- Salary from $98,764.98 - $114,433.98 per annum plus 11% superannuation
