Qualifications & experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Diploma in Cookery
- Experience working in a ramen restaurant is advantegeous
- Experience and understanding of creating pork bone broth and other soups
- Experience and understanding of ramen noodle making
- Experience working in a Japanese restaurant and understanding of the use of Japanese seasonings
Tasks & responsibilities
- Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning and cutting.
- Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and hygiene regulations
- Creating new dishes and planning menus
- Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Hiring and training junior chefs
- Cost control
