Experienced Concrete Technician

About the role
Coffey Testing is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Concrete Technician to join our Coffey Testing Newcastle team who are vital in ensuring the quality and safety of the construction materials used in some of Australia's largest rail, mining and infrastructure projects. This role will involve:

• Undertaking a variety of manual tasks in the field and in the laboratory, including preparing and testing aggregates & concrete samples;
• Completing the following tests - Triaxials, permeabilities, aggregates, rock testing and materials;
• Liaising with Coffey Testing’s client onsite on testing schedules, procedures and results, representing the Coffey Testing brand;
• Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with industry standards (AS1289, AS1012);
• Undertaking routine quality assurance checks and calibrations, ensuring all equipment is maintained; and
• Ensuring accuracy of test results and timely output of work.

About you
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete testing, and will demonstrate some or all of the following criteria:

• 5+ years' experience as a Concrete Technician;
• Has demonstrated experience in laboratory and field testing in aggregates and concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012);
• Thorough understanding of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements;
• NATA signatory for concrete tests;
• Ideally holds a current NDM Radiation license (highly advantageous);
• Holds a current manual driver's licence;
• Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety and;
• Is physically fit and able to perform a manual labour-intensive role which includes heavy lifting.
