About the role:
The Primary Health Care Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive Primary Health Care services to Aboriginal people and their families in a culturally appropriate manner. The role involves proactive engagement with clients to address health issues holistically, raising awareness, and empowering Aboriginal communities to take control of their health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic care and clinical advice, manage health assessments, and chronic disease recalls, administer medications, and deliver training sessions.
- Develop partnerships with health services and community groups, educate and communicate health issues, and develop community care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, provide clinical leadership, and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Follow principles of quality management, ensure infection control standards, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

About you:
- Enthusiastic and looking to work in a collaborative environment, but also able to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with both clients and colleagues
- Knowledge of community health, public health, and Aboriginal health, with experience in Aboriginal community-controlled organisations
To be a successful applicant, you must posses the following:
- AHPRA Registration
- Bachelor degree
- Working rights in Australia
- Current drivers license
- Post-registration qualifications in midwifery or Child and Family Health Nursing (not essential, but desired)
