Job Description
The Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant will guarantee Perth’s future water needs for generations to come.
To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia.
The Alliance will design, construct, operate and maintain the Plant which will produce 50 billion litres of drinking water per year, with provision to expand by an additional 50 billion litres per year in the future. Having already constructed 89 desalination plants worldwide, ACCIONA is a pioneer and the global leader in the sustainable desalination sector.
Construction of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant will commence over the coming months and the project is expected to be completed in 2029. We are putting out this Expression of Interest to suitably experienced Quality Advisors who would like to register their interest for upcoming opportunities on this landmark project.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will develop and maintain the project Quality plan, system, and records in compliance with the Project Management Plan.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Monitor and drive adherence to quality standards, codes, and regulations throughout the construction process to guarantee that all work meets or exceeds industry requirements.
- Develop and implement robust quality assurance procedures and protocols to systematically assess the quality of materials, workmanship, and construction techniques at various stages of the project
- Coordinate and conduct regular inspections and testing of construction materials, components, and structures to identify defects, deviations from specifications, and areas for improvement
- Identify quality-related issues, investigate their root causes, and collaborate with project stakeholders to develop effective solutions and preventive measures to maintain or enhance quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing performance data, soliciting feedback from project teams, and implementing best practices to optimize quality outcomes and enhance overall project success.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or training in a Quality, trade or related discipline.
- Experience working in the construction industry supporting a civil, tunnelling or marine project
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) as well as compliance obligations.
- A proven track record in the implementation of a QMS for a similar scale construction project will also be preferred.
