About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced sustainability specialist to join our NSW Leadership team. Highly motivated by business development and client relationship management, you will focus on the continued growth of our Carbon Planning services within NSW while also being an integral part of our national Carbon Planning team.
You will work closely with our directors, and quantity surveying and infrastructure teams to ensure our national strategy and growth plans are realised. You will provide strategic consulting services to our clients with expert Carbon Planning advice.
Technical subject matter knowledge is assumed, what will set you apart is your passion and commitment to excellence in service and delivery, coupled with your ability to translate complex project needs into meaningful and impactful opportunities for our clients, in your role as their trusted carbon and cost planner.
Critical to your success will be your ability to grow and shape a small state-based Carbon Planning team through nurturing, intentional and inclusive leadership. You will enjoy working in a fluid organisational structure with no silos and a flexible environment where employees have autonomy and accountability.

Key aspects of the role include:
- Leadership and development of a small team fostering high engagement and growth.
- Contributing to the national Carbon Planning services team at strategic and operational levels
- Actively partnering with the NSW leadership team including contributing to state strategy and growth plans and employee engagement initiatives.
- Represent Slattery at conferences and industry events.
- Business development including new business and existing clients / projects.
- Provision of consulting services including client relationship management.
- Lead, and guide and mentor others on technical Carbon Planning work
What does the right person look like?
- Progressive industry experience with time spent in a dedicated sustainability role
- Demonstrable business development capabilities including experience acquiring new clients
- Knowledge and understanding of bid management and tender preparation
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships
- Proven people leadership experience including motivating, engaging, and developing a team
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills
- Ability to use persuasion and influence where appropriate
- Aptitude for innovative thinking and highly developed judgement
- Knowledge and experience of sustainability reporting
- Adaptable and agile mindset to meet competing priorities and deadlines coupled with a strong project management focus
- Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, quantity surveying, engineering, or property related degree
