Ventia have an exciting opportunity for a Fabrication Supervisor to work closely alongside the Telecoms team assigned to install the radio telescopes on the internationally acclaimed Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Project.
This “Hand On” role will work closely with the Health, Safety and Quality teams driving safety, quality, and project deliverables.
This role will initially be based in Welshpool and will mobilise to the project site last quarter of 2024.working a 14 day on, 7 day off roster, FIFO. This project is situated in Western Australia, 800km north of Perth and will report to the project Construction Manager
Duties include but not limited to:
- Conduct daily pre-start's, construction walk-outs, planning, scoping, and activities to ensure that site works can be constructed efficiently
- Influence, lead and manage work crews in a challenging construction environment by engaging, motivating, and mentoring
- Liaise with designers and logistics teams to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction and highlight critical stock deficiencies
- Ensure all works performed are carried out to Ventia and Client standards
- Assist Scheduler with 2 and 4 week look ahead and reviews of completed works
- Experience working within a supervisory position, managing teams in the Fabrication of Portable Buildings areas
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Well organised, focused, and productive
- Previous experience working with Directional Drill, Rip & Plough and Open Trenching techniques
- Telecommunication experience
- Good Microsoft skills
- Proficient at building strong and beneficial internal relationships
- Valid Driver's Licence (HR/MC advantageous) and a Current First Aid Qualification
