About the Role:
As the Facilities Engineer, you will lead and manage the provision of facility management services such as refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air services, water and fire services, and waste plant at our facility in Wacol. This is a rare opportunity within our maintenance team that is responsible for ensuring longevity for short term and long-term site requirements.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Repairs to our assets and driving outcomes.
- Ensure the plant maintains the highest level of availability possible to achieve business targets.
- Repairs to facilities and raising minor capital projects to implement site improvements.
- Provide technical support to tradespeople, supervising trades personnel.
- Monitor safe working practices, particularly on electrical work.
- Participate in continuous improvements and problem-solving initiatives.
- Ensure immediate reaction to breakdowns and urgent work.
- Ensure all electrical documentation and schematics are securely retained, updated and maintained as required.
About you:
- Qualifications in facilities management or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience
- Engineering qualification or trade background is advantageous.
- A solid understanding of refrigeration particularly with ammonia systems (advantageous), compressed air and steam generation systems maintenance is required.
- Experience in a fast-moving, high volume food manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Work Orders, Risk Assessments, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling, Design solutions for capital projects
- Basic knowledge in electrical and low / high Voltage systems, Lockout Tag-out procedures and in Safety of Electrical Operations
