Position Overview:
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dedicated Facilities/Industrial Cleaner to ensure our Food Production, office, and warehouse spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning tasks in various areas including production floors, offices, and warehouse spaces.
- Use industrial cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols, especially in Food Production areas.
- Manage waste disposal in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas needing attention.
- Work closely with the maintenance, production and office teams to report any repairs or maintenance needed.
- Operate various types of cleaning machinery, including pressure washers, floor scrubbers, and vacuum systems.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on cleaning equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Handle and transport cleaning equipment safely between different areas of the facility.
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of machinery for deep cleaning and sanitation processes.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitisation of food processing equipment and office spaces to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Use specialised cleaning agents that are food-safe and effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms.
- Dismantle equipment as needed for in-depth cleaning and ensure all components are properly sanitised before reassembly.
- Maintain a log of cleaning schedules and document the condition of equipment after cleaning.
- Cleaning of staff amenities and lunchrooms throughout the site.
- Maintaining adequate consumables at hand washing stations and amenities throughout the site.
- Cleaning of offices, desks and emptying of rubbish bins.
- Cleaning the external areas of the production and office buildings.
- Conducting any other cleaning duties as required.
- Conducting pest control checks.
- Assist with production when required.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines and company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for cleaning and sanitation.
- Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times during cleaning operations.
- Participate in regular training sessions on the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and machinery.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the management immediately.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including wet and cold settings.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions.
Qualifications:
- Certification in handling and operating industrial cleaning equipment is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, preferably in a Food Production environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends where required
