The Mai-Wel Group has been providing a diverse range of disability services to residents of the Hunter Valley for almost 60 years. What began as a group of local families coming together to provide education and opportunity to their children has today developed into a thriving business supporting more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government areas.
What we are looking for......
We are currently seeking a dedicated person to lead and oversee a team of supported employees engaged in basic cleaning and grounds maintenance tasks across multiple locations. You will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the smooth operation of our onsite and offsite work teams.
- Supervise and mentor a group of supported employees in basic cleaning and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to ensure quality work performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate work schedules and assignments for onsite and offsite work teams.
- Maintain effective communication with onsite supervisors and management to address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress, provide feedback, and address any challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and professional growth.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in facilities management, cleaning services, or related field preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and empower others.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Have leadership experience or have managed trainees or apprentices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to support and empower individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation required.
