Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance service to all facets of the Minto factory operations, plant, equipment, processes, building, grounds and ancillary services including security, cleaning, waste disposal, and building maintenance.
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for providing the coordination of all maintenance to factory plant and equipment to maximize reliability. Ensuring that the maintenance team has the required labour, materials and technical information, this will allow them to operate efficiently & cost effectively.
Areas of Responsibility
- Reduce cost of maintenance while improving service
- Minimize downtime and interruptions to operations
- Render better service to operations by performing most important jobs first, in consultation with operations
- Apply technical and maintenance experience to analysis of each job
- Provide a single contact for all in-process, scheduled, and emergency work (area supervisor or functional supervisor)
- Require that operating personnel anticipate repair work before jobs become emergencies
- Oversee & supervise the physical maintenance and repair of all operating site equipment to deliver a reliable plant operating within control.
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
- Implementation of preventative & planned maintenance programs.
- Maintenance of workshop equipment including proper use of lubrication and preventative maintenance techniques to reduce breakdowns.
- Propose plant modifications to improve performance.
- Supervision of Workshop Activities.
- Training and development of new and existing employees.
- Train team in repair techniques to minimize down time and maximize safety and quality.
- Develop & monitor MP2 including corrective & preventative maintenance, equipment spares, stores & purchasing, and reporting.
- Manage databases and organize certification of items as per relevant Australian Standards, codes of practice or regulations, ie lifting devices, cranes, portable appliances, and pressure vessels.
- Actively promote all aspects of safety and actively use the safety connections system
- Actively promote all aspects of quality & environment.
- Meet KPI’s for quality targets.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A qualified tradesman having completed a recognised trades course and an apprenticeship of 4 years duration.
- Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Trade) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years experience as a qualified industrial electrician or in industrial fitting, machining and fabrication or similar trade by hands on training under supervision.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar supervisory role.
